Wrapping Up - Unit 10

In unit 3, I rated my level of physical well-being as 9.  As of today, it increased to 9.5; the reason, I think because I have improved on my psychological and spiritual areas.  And of course, as one aspect is improved it impacts the others because each is dependent on the other for true wholeness to occur.

My level of spiritual well-being would be 8.  I feel much stronger in my belief and my connectedness with the ‘Ultimate” being.  I belief this is the reason why I’m here and have achieved so much throughout my career and life all because of his constant presence in my life.

As I thoroughly assess my psychological well-being, I believe my rating would be 8.5.  The reason is I now have a stable mental attitude toward life, stress free and always positive in my thoughts and actions.  The practicing of meditation exercises, the subtle mind, and loving-kindness has brought me this rating.  I have now achieved a sense of inner peace, calmness and awareness, to say the least.

I believe I have made improvements in all areas.  I continue to stand up for what is just and honest even when it’s not popular and when all the odds are against me; my spiritual well-being, I am committed to help others in any way I can and make a difference in their lives.  I continue to seek the “Ultimate” one and try my utmost best to ask myself “what would this “Super” being do if he is faced with whatever I’m challenged with this moment?   Psychological well-being, I practice meditation each night before bedtime and first thing in the morning, practice yoga before I go about my daily activities allowing my thoughts and feelings to be stable.

As I specified above in the evaluation of my goals - I have without a doubt implemented exercises for well-being in each of the three regions. I am developing in calming and training the mind through meditation, loving kindness and visualization practices. I have started reading positive mental books and grasping the moments of life and settling on cognitive decisions with my time, my relationships, and bringing every objective on with a positive mental attitude.

Throughout this course, I have learned so much and grown in all three aspects tremendously.  Most importantly, I have understood how the mind is so powerful and capable of unimaginable growth and development if trained in the proper manner.  Incorporating the various meditation practices, such as the subtle mind, the Loving-kindness practice has transformed my inner being and brought about so much self-confidence and profound stability and stillness into my life.  As a result, my overall well-being is improving day by day.

As for my future profession in the field of nutrition, my goal is to own a whole foods store with a juice and smoothie bar.  My obligation is to counsel clients/patients to alter their diet and lifestyle in positive ways.  Of course, I will also incorporate integral healing which promotes healing of the mind, body and spirit in order to achieve optimal health and wellness toward human flourishing.

Personal Application of the Psychological and Spiritual Aspects of Healing - Unit 9

Introduction
It is critical for health and wellness professionals to advance in all the regions of integral health – psychological, spiritual, and physical – since one can just lead were (s)he has been.  According to Dacher, it is imperative to take the excursion ourselves to take others into a comparative path.  If we don't verifiably comprehend and join these practices into our lives for complete wellness, we can't be an illustration to others in any way or form.  With this as a primary concern, with a specific end goal to wind up without a doubt professionals of a more extensive health, it is basic we start with our life.  We can just take in so much from books and other learning materials, nonetheless, to be integral professionals it is necessary to encounter the impacts of a constantly developing psychological, spiritual and physical wholeness keeping in mind the end goal to grasp the conceivable outcomes of human flourishing (2006).
As a health and wellness professional, I must think about the imperativeness in my improvement physically, mentally, and psychologically, by achieving ceaseless information in integral health and healing to ease unnecessary suffering.  As the truism goes, “There’s always room for improvement – no matter how far we have come.”  It is necessary that I first start with my inner self so I can expand my cognizance: I will  constantly educate myself in health and wellness, since this is the area I have to develop to be quite compelling both for my well-being and my patients/clients.
Assessment
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that each of these areas is extremely vital for my generally health; subsequently I have to give careful consideration to every one so as to alleviate unnecessary suffering and promote human flourishing.  Throughout this course, I have comprehended that dealing with the physical body is only one part of creating an entire sense of wholeness.  Physically, I might now rate my physical well-being 9 to 9 1/2 since no one is impeccable and there are constant opportunities to get better.  For two decades now I've been consuming a well-balanced diet incorporating exercises consistently.  Taking forethought of one's self physically helps one step healthier and likewise is of incredible example for others to accompany.  Psychologically, I might rate myself an 8.  The explanation for why is since before this course I under estimate how powerful the mind truly is.  However, throughout this course and the activities that I was asked to practice have opened my mind and has led me to new heights.  Mentally, I am more focused in light of the meditation practices I have consolidated in my life.  This self-awareness and inner peace have been a stepping stone towards my confidence and self-esteem.  I know to keep on flourishing into integral health I additionally need to keep on improving as time passes by.  Spiritually, I might likewise rate myself an eight, I decidedly accept in the "Super-being" and by continually "Chanting" as the day progresses has supported me throughout my entire life in all that I do.  This Higher Power or the Ultimate has been my guide, protection, light, and source at whatever point the time emerges.  I conclude this Power had lead me on this earth for a serious reason – to help others like myself live a  healthful, happier, longer, flourishing life.
Goal Development
Physical – I have to keep on caring for my body in a significant manner.  To accomplish this, I have to keep on consuming healthful foods which incorporates a balanced-diet regularly of course.  Equally significant, physical activities are likewise an absolute necessity.
Psychological (Mental health) – I have to continue to learn in new approaches to manage stress and learn in new breathing and stress methods.  That said, I have to keep on replacing exasperating and negative emotions, for example, confusion, hatred, doubt, and resentment with positive and fulfilling feelings, for example, happiness, patience, loving-kindness.  By doing this, I can continue on the path towards human flourishing.
Spiritual – I have to keep on learning and understanding more wisdom in regards to the different meaningful teachings.  I think they are extremely imperative in their one of a kind contrasts and similitudes.  Also, I have to keep on seeking the "Ultimate" one with a specific end goal to keep on receiving an inner peace and live a more straightforward and compelling life that will be exemplifying to others.
Practice for Personal Health
Physical Wellness: Exercise-daily workouts 20 – 30 minutes; utilize the steps at work or other building I go as opposed to utilizing the elevators, and brisk walking 30 minutes throughout the warmer months.
Breathing – designate a peaceful area in my home in the study room and practice a couple of relaxation movements like yoga that helps me breathe and stretch better whilst I take profound and moderate breaths as I inhale and exhale.  This I can consolidate in my practice first thing in the morning before going about my everyday tasks.
Psychological wellness: Meditation, Visualizations, deep breathing activities are some of the tools I use to help me balance my life.  I will keep on practicing the meditation exercises posted in Doc-sharing last thing before going to bed.  Also, I have begun listening to symphony music that is very relaxing and contemplative to further improve my psychological well-being throughout the course of my life.
Spiritual wellness: I can keep on fostering my spirituality existence by seeing others as one of a kind and exceptional as I see myself or how I visualize the "Ultimate" one.  Moreover, keep on seeking the "Higher Power" to help me in my day by day attempts that I experience all around my life.  I will dependably look inwardly keeping in mind the end goal to keep on growing and be an improved person both inwardly and outwardly.
Commitment
Taking one step at a time will in the end lead me to accomplishing the goals that I have set for myself from the commencement of this course.  With a specific end goal to adequately accomplish my goals to acquire optimal health and experience human flourishing, I will keep track of my progress in a journal.  By doing this, I'll have the ability to stay on track on my day by day exercises, subsequently, if certain levels appear to be lower than others, I can execute new forms that can encourage further development in these aspects of wellness.  I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, after a couple of months later of monitoring these levels of advancement, I have no doubt that I will have the ability to encounter and balance in all these aspects – physical, psychological, and spiritual health.  After acquiring this balance, I will work towards guaranteeing that this pattern proceeds as a component of my everyday life.

Most Beneficial Practices - To Me

I believe that all the practices have been and are beneficial to any individual seeking calmness and a balance in his/her life.  The two that have been most beneficial to me is the Loving Kindness and the Meditation practices.

The Loving Kindness helps me when my feeling and thoughts go astray.  Being the person I am (Positive), my thoughts do go astray sometimes, but then I overcome this by developing the skills to deal with them (Negative thoughts).  This exercise helps me be free and heal my mind when troubled.  However, I like to reach out and embrace others in time of their need.  I also have learned to exhibit a lot of compassion and helped others cross the other side of the “river” or see the “glass have full”.  Over time, I have witnessed the Loving Kindness exercise has continuously brought me feelings of happiness and fulfillment.

The Meditation exercise has benefitted me tremendously.  It gives me a piece of mind, feeling revitalized, energized and calm.  I practice this exercise frequently before bedtime for relaxation and inner peace.  In addition, this practice has also helped me overcome stressful situations, and has increased self-awareness.  I often recommend this exercise to my close friends and family explaining how this simple but realistic practice can benefit them in so many positive ways.

Meeting Aesclepius

Throughout the exercise meeting Aesclepius, I was capable to make an image of an individual who I imagined in admiration for their sympathy, love, tolerance, kindness, selflessness, loving-kindness, thoughtfulness, inward excellence and gentle.  This extraordinary and excellent knowledge of mindfulness and meditation has positively fostered an increase in both my psychological and spiritual wellbeing. Concerning meditation, quieting my mind in the vicinity of the unseen and Supreme Being and envisioning the excellence of all creation have surely affected my internal being incorporating my mind in a positive and illuminated way and have inspired me in an unimaginable happiness.  This experience I came across inside my inner being is worth something to discuss with the individuals who have never encounter this glorious exercise.  It is my extreme longing to practice this exercise as continuous as would be prudent to proceed this way to encourage more excellent health and wellness.  The expression, "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" is regularly expressed as "You cannot talk the talk if you haven't walked the walk."  For instance, in the event that somebody has not encountered a specific experience how can (s)he guide another person to the same thing?  With respect to health and wellness, this implies that, if an individual does not demonstrate for himself or herself the benefit of meditation or mindfulness and integral health , it will demonstrate challenging to pass on this experience to an alternate obviously.  That said our lives are a walking affirmation daily.  As a medical professional, one needs to incorporate the act of mindfulness practices every day.  Meaning that ((s)he needs to trust in his/her purpose, work, and live by the same teaching (s)he gives the clients/patients.

Integral Assessment

I find myself in a positive state of mind when I practice these activities.  I also find the willingness to help others when necessary and to love myself with kindness and appreciation and give the same to others.  The assessment process is an exercise to improve my personal plan by searching my present condition and recognizing the parts of my life that oblige consideration and figuring out the particular progressions I wish to address and create a way of integral practice that will advance these progressions.  I am concentrating all the more on the psycho spiritual advancement.  I am in delight in the thought of broaden consciousness and reinforcing my ability for attention, concentrate on intention, develop wisdom, opening my consciousness/awareness and bring to life the characteristics of human flourishing.  I have faith that meditation in addition to visualization will carry me to this goal.

Meditation is painful in the beginning but it bestows immortal Bliss and supreme joy in the end” Swami Sivananda

Mental Fitness Practices

The loving-kindness exercise was less demanding to do in light of the fact that you were focusing on considerations of love ones and of ones who hurt you.  The subtle mind exercise was a little harder because of needing to clear your thoughts and attempt to be in silence. This exercise might be less demanding for me to do when getting prepared for bed, on the grounds that this is the thing that I really attempt to do so as to have a well-rested night.  The subtle mind is an exercise to relinquish thought as it passes through the mind.  As portrayed in the content, the mind is a sea with waves of thought on the surface.  As we have the capacity to dive deeper into our minds the water gets to be calmer and we get less moved by the perpetual exhibit of thought.

Spiritual wellness to me is the magic that binds everything.  I nearly envision your spirit as the cup that holds mental and physical capacities.  If your glass is small you get overpowered simply.  Also if your cup is broken things leak out.  I accept this is the reason we must exhaust our cup consistently before we start a reflection exercise.  By doing so, we are permitting our spirit to acquire new comprehension information and knowledge.

Loving Kindness - Unit 4

I discovered this practice to be beneficial as it was unwinding and peaceful. Concentrating on the sound was so tranquil and I felt a type of serenity when taking profound breaths. The words helped me reflect and concentrate on myself. The main reason I didn't concur with was taking in the pain from those of the ones I cherish. I feel that improving myself is a great start and have the ones you cherish do the practice so they can deal with themselves is an excellent idea. This practice in fact is beneficial for me, except for taking in the pain of others might carry love and wholeness to your inward self. I would doubtlessly propose this practice to others as it might likewise help them reflect and find peace inside themselves.

The idea of "Mental Workout" is to train the mind with the goal that the personality can work at a more elevated amount of consciousness. Via preparing our minds we get to be better individuals in showing and giving love, consideration, and cognizance. I can incorporate mental workouts to foster my mental health by staying positive and dissecting circumstances before arriving at conclusions and in addition doing the breathing and meditation exercises.
